From a very young age, I was raised by a single mother. I know that she did her best with what she was given, but I believe she missed so much as a child that there was a lot she couldn't give me.

 

 

I felt so lost in my teenage years, I needed attention and I found it. This resulted in pregnancy at the age of 19. A baby having one.

 

My daughter was born with a condition called gastroschisis. A rare condition where her intestine was floating around in the embryotic sac. I was devastated. After 3 long months of hospitalization, I finally got to bring her home.

 

I waited until I was 32 to get married. I wanted to choose wisely in hopes of being a good partner and teammate.

 

I was a stay-at-home mom at the time, so even though I felt my contributions to the home were invaluable, I had very little stored up financially. But I knew that my marriage was not a healthy environment for myself or my children, so I decided to remove myself from it. What a scary thing. With less than a thousand dollars to my name, and 11 month old twins in tow, this was just a lot to even process, let alone execute.

 

I've seen some things.

 

After two very tough years, I decided I wanted a better life for my children.

 

I strategized.

I planned.

I implemented.

 

And God never let go of my hand.

 

Every tear was worth it.

Every night, completely exhausted physically and emotionally.

Everyday I felt completely empty after giving my all to my children.

 

It is all for this movement.
